A Story Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 11/04/01
He came down the mountainside
His hands full of dirt
With thoughts so pure not full of pride
He wanted more than what was under her skirt
His love he knew he needed to share
With his heart beating harder the closer he got
He knew with her he would never despair
To him this meant a whole lot
On his horse
And battle scarred
This was of course
Because he had been marred
The strife from his past
Seemed to much of a load
He had been trotting his horse so fast
As he traveled down the road
He knew in his heart
That he would see her soon
He felt it was smart
To be there by noon
But as he arrived
He met her with tears
He did not know how he had survived
Without her for so many years
They held each other in an embrace
And rubbed their faces together so close
It was something his mind could not erase
He knew he had missed her the most
He was open with her and this was true
Sharing lots of splendid things
He knew that would never make her blue
He brought gifts of gold that were wedding rings
