The liar

A Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 6/2/2000

It is over I have no doubt
But you still dragged it out
You must have wanted this love affair to end
But for so long you pretended to be my friend

We did not fight we did not argue
I thought that we were both so true
You have another I can now see
the last year I must have been part of your family

Where was she when I held you tight
as I made you feel oh so right
Where was she when you needed to talk
I was like your leaning rock

I don’t understand how you could use
Another life and then abuse
by dumping me when it got old
Was I a lie to her you told

I was there for you and was your friend
but now my heart you cannot mend
I believed in you from deep inside
then you ripped me apart and tore my pride

On special days I tried to show you
how much you meant to me, this is true
But all the things I didn’t mean a thing
Because pain now to me is all you bring

I love writing everything from poetry to thoughts about life ! Some old and new words to share. I am not religious but spiritual referring to God in my work!
