A Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 1/13/15
In the mirror he looks at his face so clear
Where did the years all go wasted on so much fear
What has happened to all of his dreams
All of his plans, all of his schemes
Thoughts creep in from a simpler time
some of the memories are not so kind
He numbed the years away, just to get through
convinced that it was happiness, but this is not true
The lies he told to others were really only to his self
Thinking money and fame would buy him mental wealth
but this was not the case for him in his life
Staying married where the love is dead and still calling her his wife
This is not good for his soul
where there is no one there for him to have and to hold
His physical needs and tormented soul
the bottle he drinks is killing him slow
His true love she awaits, but it’s her he will destroy
The truth is, that he feels just like a little boy
he only knows how to use
and blindly those around him he will abuse
