A Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 10/11/2000
The arms of life held out for you
So that your day will not be blue
The friends you have in this life
a husband or a beautiful wife
The child that you will conceive
and the day that comes when they will leave
the life you live throughout the day
this life that will happen come what may
The beginnings and the endings too
The moments that you feel real blue
The joy you feel at one time or another
The love you have for a sister or brother
The pain you feel each day
that sometimes does not go away
the family that surrounds you
the love you desire so true
The dog you own
and your cat who will roam
the tank of fish
And the one true wish
The arms of life held out
we can embrace them without a doubt
it’s a choice we have been given
to accept or not this comfort while we are living
The things in this life we live
the feeling as we try to forgive
all the things in this life you see
can hinder us or set us free
