Polite lying

A Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 06/07/2000

Do you really think I need
Protection from what you are thinking of me
You lie in a way that I see through
Thinking your lies will keep me from hating you

Fearful of telling the truth so real
Worried about how the truth will make you and I feel
I see the truth anyway
I still have let you in my life to stay

I let you stay because I can see
That you think you are protecting me
Do you think that you have a power
To lie that way by the hour

Lies weaken you so very bad
And makes you look to me so sad
A sad person is what I see
Who is afraid to death of honesty

And while you are lying to be polite
It does not feel good it just does not seem right
But I really see the truth though
And so after a while I will have to let you go

Do you not realize the people you tell lies too
Can really see the truth right though
So tell the truth even though you are scared
There is a lot to be learned and a lot to be shared

I love writing everything from poetry to thoughts about life ! Some old and new words to share. I am not religious but spiritual referring to God in my work!
