A Poem written by Vivian Ennis 06/26/2000
I would rather be in Mars
Somewhere in the stars
Floating around in the air
Without one single little care
I would rather be a tree
With the wind blowing on me
And the warm sun on the leaves
To blow around with the other trees
I would rather be a mouse
And hide around in the house
Sneaking in and out to spy
To find out who is telling a lie
I would rather be a flower
Filled with a power
A power to make people smile
Hanging around all the while
I would rather be a fish at sea
Swimming around being so free
In the ocean wide and blue
In the water oh so true
I would rather be a car
Being able to go real far
On the streets paved like stone
Oh how I would like to roam
I would rather be a dog
Or even a frog
A cat in a hat
Or even a great big bat
But I am who I am as you can see
And I am happy still being me
