Holiday Perfections Exceptions!
A True Life Story about changes that are hard to make!
Written by Vivian Ennis 12/21/18
For so many years holidays have meant so much to me, starting way back in my childhood it was a time when parents put aside a lot of the normal daily grind to make sure that I and my siblings were happy. Growing up in my family was not always easy. I was the youngest of four and my mother was the one always trying to keep the peace in a semi large Italian family.
“My mother’s perfection rubbed off on me”
Not that I am complaining, because I truthfully am past all the Blame at my age and am grateful for all the lessons my past brought me. But still my mother’s perfection rubbed off on me. To this day have a problem, especially when it comes to Christmas being just perfect, along with every other day of the year but not to the extent of this one holiday!
“Keeping the past alive is my only connection to my family that I have “
Perhaps the reason that I act the way I do about this holiday we all call Christmas is because it was such a special time in my life as a child. Christmas time was a time I feel my parents tried harder not to fight , and we all did not want to upset mom, so we all behaved a bit better then on usual days of the year.
