A Poem about domestic Violence
Written by Vivian Ennis 11/02/01

Faster and faster I tried to run
as he pulled out his shot gun
hiding in the Laundromat
standing there in the dark with a rat

Holding my breath so he could not hear
my deep breath that was full of fear
Beatings up and down me so
tossing my body around to and fro

Pounding of my body and flesh
Bloody spills oh what a mess
Head swelling in the night
never no sleep to full of fright

Painful beating in my head
head to toe bruising being suppressed
Pain never to be erased
Never forgetting I was chased

This poem is about domestic violence physical harm that I broke away from over 38 yrs ago. If you are in any domestic violence please call the crisis hot line never let anyone harm you. When you let someone hit you they will escalate to a more dangerous level. Reach out and let someone know what is happening to you that will be the first way to stop what may be happening to you. You can live without them even if you think you cannot. Its gets easier the longer you are away from the suppression.

I love writing everything from poetry to thoughts about life ! Some old and new words to share. I am not religious but spiritual referring to God in my work!
