A Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 06/26/2002
I don’t fear the words I share, when talking to you
only the fear is while I am sharing, you will try to fix me too
I sometimes need an ear that I can bounce off of
to help me remember all the great things, like how I am love
Don’t look at me strange, because I can express
what you fear the most and might just detest
See I have been there and back again,
but sometimes all I need, is the silent heart of a dear friend
I have seen rainbows that disappear throughout my long life
And certain choices I have made, that may have caused my strife
I’ve listened I’ve laughed and have cried with and for you
Sometimes guilty of trying to fix you, so I would feel good too
But healing comes in the silent sounds, of a true friend
who believes in each other, that we have what it takes to mend
So even if I seem to be weak in the knees
it is only in a moment fleeting, by all who sees
There are others who will take an aggressive stand
to my personality that they just don’t understand
But deep in their heart, if they could express their truth
the innocence of love would shine through, like in their youth
If they could express what, they are truly afraid of feeling
then to each of us there would come, a mighty and great healing
