A Poem Written by Vivian Ennis 05/01/2008

What happened to the days when we were all so carefree
Jumping, running, feeling, smelling, tasting… life so gently

What happened to those days when friendship meant a lot
Listening, hearing, touching, caring… Sharing all we got

What happened to the life we knew before we grew
to be Wiser, older, stronger, bolder…I wish we all knew

Those days are not over we have just put them to sleep
Stuffed, hidden and ignored…Way down in our hearts so deep

Feel them now, remember them well
the laughter, the love, a flower we smell
the sound of children at play
the feel the sun on a warm summer day

The taste of watermelon as it runs down your face
the hugs from a friend and Gods loving grace
those carefree feelings they want to come though
that we have suppressed with our busy life too

Get up and dance
Get up and sing
Laugh at life and all is brings

Don’t wait for time to be just right
be part of life and all its light
Get up and absorb this life somehow
it’s calling your heart can you hear now
